Unpacking the Boxes – Donald Hall

In this memoir, the American poet Donald Hall (1928–2018) looks back on a life devoted entirely to poetry – from his first poems as a teenager to his years on the old family farm in New Hampshire, which he shared with his wife, the poet Jane Kenyon.

Hall writes candidly about ambition, his friendships with other writers, love and loss, and what it means to dedicate a whole life to writing. A moving and honest book for anyone who loves poetry and literary memoirs.
