The Early Diary of Anaïs Nin, Vol. 2 (1920–1923)

Anaïs Nin (1903–1977) began her famous diary as an eleven-year-old girl and kept it for the rest of her life. This second volume of her early diaries covers the years 1920 to 1923, as the young Nin comes of age in New York.

At its heart is the growing tension between the role expected of her as a woman and her determination to become a writer. A fascinating glimpse into the making of one of the great diarists of the twentieth century, illustrated with photographs.
